FITNESS FOR DUTY

Fitness for duty evaluations are psychological examinations that are typically requested by the employer. These evaluations are intended to determine whether the employee can safely perform essential job functions. The evaluation typically includes a clinical interview, assessment measures, records review, collateral interview(s), and a report.

INDEPENDENT PSYCHOLOGICAL

An Independent Medical Exam (IME) is when a psychologist who has not previously been involved in a person’s care examines an individual.  IMEs may be conducted to determine the cause, extent and medical treatment of a work-related or other injury where liability is at issue; whether an individual has reached maximum benefit from treatment; and whether any permanent impairment remains after treatment. These are typically requested by an employer, an insurance carrier, or a law firm.

INTERNATIONAL ADOPTION

Some countries require a psychological evaluation as part of the adoption process. My goal is to make this as stress-free as possible by letting you know up front what you can expect. My recommendations will be created to help you to be proactive in addressing needs you may have and to anticipate challenges. The evaluation typically includes a clinical interview of each parent, a combined interview (if adopting with a partner), psychological measures (if required by the country), and a letter or report to the adoption agency.

PSYCHODIAGNOSTIC

For some individuals, obtaining an accurate diagnosis may be challenging and complex. This evaluation is intended solely to determine which diagnosis or diagnoses are accurate and which are not. Evaluations are tailored to the specific concerns of the individual, their family, and/or their treatment providers.

BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE

A behavioral medicine evaluation is conducted when a person is required to do so prior to a medical procedure such as: bariatric surgery, organ transplant, or spinal cord stimulator implantation. Patients often are referred by their treating physician/surgeon or self-referred. The evaluation typically includes a clinical interview, assessment measures, and a letter or report.
